You say, 'Hail, Scout Leader Jyx`n'
Scout Leader Jyx`n says, 'It is good that you have returned. We have just finished discussing amongst ourselves and it is time to share with you what we have discovered. Let me just give you a high level explanation of everything at play; The notes you found with Kaesora detailed that a tomb was found hidden away deep within a 'forest' which hold remnants of an ancient civilization, which was capable of power 'beyond our understanding'. One of the Claw signet rings you recovered has been marked for a special mission. Something that happens only when the Claw Commander is ordered by Kaezul to carry out a task with his most reliable forces. And lastly, the report from the deceased Forest of the Fallen scout, mentions that he has noticed more troop movement as of late. He had tracked them to a cave nestled away, but was ambushed when he approached. Barely escaping immediate death.'
Jyx`n pauses for a moment.
Scout Leader Jyx`n says, 'All this to say... we believe that Kaezul is trying to protect or stop something, and we believe this something is related to the ancient civilization mentioned in the Kaesora notes. That is where you come in, we need you to investigate the location the scout found, and return back with anything you can share. If it is indeed an ancient tomb, maybe there is some information about the power of the Mist which could turn the tide in this battle. You will likely encounter the armies of the Claw within, so be sure to bring your most trusted companions. Good luck.'

You say, 'Hail, Zeshan'
Zeshan blinks at you.
Zeshan says, 'The ward has been bypassed, but how?'
You say, 'I am search of something within.'
Zeshan says, 'Straight to the point aren't we? Just going to ignore my question are we? Not that it makes any difference, shackled to my own bones I am. But if you want something, anything, bring me the heads of this siege, of those scaled fiends. Until then I will say no more. I am much too pre occupied maintaining this ward.'

Zeshan says, 'Finally.'
Zeshan seems to relax.
Zeshan says, 'The siege had ended, in time my kin will slumber again. You have aided me, and for that you have my own gratitude, but trust me when I say that you and yours are not welcome here. What do you want?'

You say, 'Do you know anything about the Mist?'
Zeshan eyes open wide.
Zeshan says, 'Why would you ask such a question? Your true purpose here?'

Zeshan says, 'I see. Your resolve is understood, I will not stand in your way.' he pauses for a moment, 'I know that name, Kaezul, he and his kind have been here before. I too know of this 'Mist', its origins and its power. So what questions do you have? What knowledge can I share?'

- [D1] Kaezul has been here before?
You say, 'Kaezul has been here before?'
Zeshan says, 'Some time ago, long enough for us to return to sleep. He came with others, they dug and defiled, disturbed my kin and brought their spirits back to this plane. I know not of Kaezul's magic, but to bring my kin out in such a way is unconscionable, and power without question.'
- [D2] What is the Mist?
You say, 'What is the Mist?'
Zeshan says, 'It is us, it is love, it is hate. But above all it is vengeance. In desperation, or a final act of courage, we can sacrifice our very self to become an unstoppable force. Death for death, a life for a life. Such a state is not long for this world normally, but we need but an instant to snuff the life of another. It was always this way. Until it wasn't. Until we wished for something more.'
- [D3] What are you?

- [D1] Why did he bring back your kin to this plane?
You say, 'Why did he bring back your kin to this plane?'
Zeshan says, 'He surely sensed something, a great power that lay dormant. He twisted their spirits and caused unimaginable pain searching for answers. Until he found it, our latent power, our final sacrifice, and our eventual downfall. The Mist.'
- [D1] What wish?
You say, 'What wish?'
Zeshan says, 'To have the power without the sacrifice. Speaker Ossirenth, had a vision, and a fear. That our kind would die to hands of the new races. That you would see our power and covet it. We did not have the numbers to fight you off, even with the the Mist. So he devised a plan, he would take the spirits of those who died and tie them to this plane to guard over us until the end of days. A statue of great magic and power was to be erected, and it is there the spirits of the dead would live, at the height of Rehgrat, the center of the Razad.'
- [D1] Speaker Ossirenth?
You say, 'Speaker Ossirenth?'
Zeshan says, 'Our leader. He was said to be able to speak to the Gods them self. Many looked to him for hope, and came to him in fear. We believed at the time he would guide us through the coming of your kind, and protect our mostly peaceful existence. I am not sure what took over him to create the statue, or the atrocities that would come with it. Perhaps he too lived in fear, and his decisions were clouded by it. The fear was not unwarranted, Kaezul is proof of that. I not once talked to him, so I do not know.'
- [D1] The Gods?
You say, 'The Gods?'
Zeshan says, 'Yes, our Gods. Trushkar the Ocean Lord, Qinimi the Sky Spirit, Ferubi the Land Tender, and Muram the Destructive.'
- [D1] Rehgrat? I have never seen or heard of such a place
You say, 'Rehgrat? I have never seen or heard of such a place'
Zeshan says, 'It is shrouded to your kind, the Mist makes sure of that. Any who approach would either die or find themselves displaced, having no idea what had happened. However, if one were to control the Mist, or have a protection of sorts. They could walk amongst our ruined center and despair in all that was lost.'
- [D2] What happened with the statue?
You say, 'What happened with the statue?'
Zeshan says, 'Speaker Ossirenth was impatient, even more so than he was foolish. Our kind live long, and death was rare. The amount of spirits added to the statue since its creation was meager, and its power matched. It could not protect itself, let alone an entire civilization. He spoke to the Razad, painted picture to cause panic, and with it he justified his actions. First the criminals were put to death for the statues. It was not enough. He then sacrificed the sick. Still it was not enough. The elderly. Again it was not enough. Some began to question him, if the statue would ever be able to perform its duty, including me. He told them to gather within the chapel of Ikkinz to let their grievance be know. He sacrificed every last one of them. It was finally enough, but it was not the result he had hoped for.'
- [D1] You were spared?
You say, 'You were spared?'
Zeshan says, 'No, I left. I felt the situation was hopeless, and I feared for the future. I came here, away from it all, to these Silent Halls. Some may think I am a coward, and they might be right. But you were not there, you did not know.'
- [D2] What happened after Ikkinz?
You say, 'What happened after Ikkinz?'
Zeshan says, 'The statue erupted, in fear, in confusion, but most of all hatred. It ripped through Rehgrat annihilating all in its path. None were spared its wrath, none were spared its malice. Our entire civilization ended in an instant, a calamity of our own doing. The Mist may be our power, but this... this was something greater. We had no hope from it. The few who remained, including myself chose to live out our days in solitude away from it all. I visited once, saw the destruction with my own eyes. Our once glorious center shrouded in Mist, snuffed of all life. So I came back here, and it is here I remained until I died.'
- [D1] Is the statue still active?
You say, 'Is the statue still active?'
Zeshan says, 'No, not since that day. In truth I have no idea if it is capable of inflicting such horror again. I fear what the one you call Kaezul might accomplish with the power he found here. Shackling and controlling the spirits of my kind in such a manner. It is most despicable. But with it he and his can walk within the Mist of Rehgrat.'
- [D1] He must be stopped
You say, 'He must be stopped'
Zeshan says, 'We are aligned. Bearing witness to the way he tortured my kin is reason enough. If it is protection you seek I may be of help. But I would sooner my spirit and bones be smeared across these walls than share with you the Mist itself.'
- [D1] You can grant me protection?
You say, 'You can grant me protection?'
Zeshan nods slightly.
Zeshan says, 'Of sorts anyway. I doubt your kind will ever be completely protected if the Mist is unleashed against you. But as long as it does not result in your death, I am sure you can manage. I will say however that any protection I know of will be rendered useless, if the power dormant within Rehgrat is unleashed, or controlled, once again.'
- [D1] How can you do this?
You say, 'How can you do this?'
Zeshan says, 'I served as Groundskeeper to this place. I maintained the golems and the wards within until the day I died. My understanding of these things was among the best even during my time. It was a necessity. I did not realize it at first, but the method you used to step past my ward is nearly identical to the core stored within our golems that grant immunity to nearly all magics. So tell me, how could you have a fraction of its core? From the The Great Originator?'

- [D2] Are you talking about the Behemoth?
You say, 'Are you talking about the Behemoth?'
Zeshan says, 'Perhaps. May I see it?'
Zeshan says, 'It is the same. And so it can be done.'
Small tendrils of wisps seem flow from his hands and gently wrap the unfolding portal that contains the Behemoth, seeping in.
Zeshan says, 'A strange, yet familiar creature, inside a stranger box. I have tuned the core within to protect against the Mist as best it can, whoever created it may have shared a history with the Razadian's long ago, the similiarities are uncanny. But it is not without cost. The core can only provide protection against one plane at a time. Before it was your plane, the one you stand in. But the Mist originates between yours and the next, the thin space in time before one ultimately passes. It was never meant to serve as it does, or be shackled to the realm of the living.'

Zeshan returned Unfolding Portal (Behemoth) to you.
- [D1] Just like that I have protection from the Mist?
You say, 'Just like that I have protection from the Mist?'
Zeshan says, 'Why would I lie? What use is that to me? My eternal sleep was interrupted by the one you call Kaezul, and until the magics tied to him end, I will never do more than briefly slumber. If you wish to challenge me go below. Past the splintered guardian, deeper still where the once sleeping souls wander aimlessly. It is there you will find a remnant of the research, a mote of the torture. I feel it seething still. Be mindful of those that search and plunder below, they snuck past the wards while I slept. Before the siege began. And do not attack my kin, lest you suffer Venandi's wrath.'

Something tugs at your entire being.
You feel your heart in your throat as the Mist collides with you. A tug is felt, and it feels like it might be the end, but then it fizzles. Not before leaving its mark, but in time that should fade too. You have proven the protections placed on the Behemoth can stop the immediate death from the Mist. It is time to return to Shaina with the news.
