Page template for NPCs

Return to Style & Formatting

Copy the template below onto new NPC pages so they follow the correct style. Fill in the fields you know and leave the rest blank — the infobox automatically hides any field you don't fill in, so there is no need to delete unused ones. Field-by-field notes are further down.

The infobox NPC template does a lot for you. Enter values as plain text: it auto-links the Zone, Faction and Class, and it auto-generates the Known Loot item table and the Quests given / Quests involved in lists from other pages. You do not add those sections by hand.

Field reference

Enter values as plain text unless a note says otherwise — the infobox adds any links and categories for you.

name
Optional. Only needed when the display name should differ from the page title.
Zone
The zone the NPC is in, as plain text (e.g. Athica). Do not add link brackets — the infobox links the zone and builds the "Zone NPCs" category automatically. For an NPC found in more than one zone, add numbered fields: Zone2, Zone3, … up to Zone20, each with its own Location# and Loc Details#.
Location
Coordinates (e.g. 40, -560, 4) or a short description. Shown in parentheses after the zone. For extra zones use the matching number: Location2, Location3, …
Loc Details
Optional extra detail (e.g. Athica Steps). Each period starts a new line, so you can chain short notes. Numbered as Loc Details2, …
Level
Exact value or a range (e.g. 71 or 57 - 65); "Con" descriptions are acceptable. Multiple values via Level2Level5.
Class
Plain class name, e.g. Warrior. Do not link it — the exact spelling drives the class auto-category. Multiple via Class2Class5.
Faction
The NPC's own faction, plain text — the infobox links it. Faction gained or lost on kill does not go here; put that in the Faction effects on kill section below. Up to Faction4.
Raid Tier
Raid tier number. Add Restriction (e.g. Restriction = 3) to label it a "3-man Tier" instead.
PH
Place holder. Link the NPC this one is a place holder for, e.g. a placeholder NPC.
Respawn
Approximate respawn timer.

Optional stat, resist and ability fields — each adds a row only when filled:

Body / Int / Health / Mana / Strength / Defense
"Jayla's Insight" style values (e.g. Health = Monstrous (8)).
Magic / Fire / Cold / Poison / Disease
Resist values (e.g. Fire = Immune (11)).
OMagic / HMagic / BMagic / IMagic
Set to yes to show "Uses Offensive / Healing / Buffing / Innate Magic".
Stationary
yes if the NPC does not move.
Event
A world event the NPC belongs to (up to Event4).
Job
Job label such as a merchant role (up to Job5).
pic1 … pic5
Images, e.g. pic1 = File:Name.png. Optional caption via pic1-text.
Merchant
Merchant table id, if the NPC sells goods.

What you still add by hand

Only the sections below are written manually; omit any that don't apply:

  • Battle information — max hit, special abilities and spells (link abilities/spells).
  • Faction effects on kill — factions raised (+) or lowered (-) when the NPC is killed.
  • Average currency loot — average coin drop; replace each # with the amount and remove denominations that don't drop.

Everything else — the Known Loot table and the Quests given / Quests involved in lists — is produced by the infobox, so do not add those manually.
